Help with Scandinavian Dinner & Bake Sale – November 1, 2024

Preparations are underway for First Lutheran’s 29th annual Scandinavian Dinner & Bake Sale to be held on Friday, November 1, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the bake sale starting at 3:30. This event takes many hands to make it a success. Volunteers are needed as early as October 12 starting with ticket sales and proceed up to the day of the event with other tasks such as meatball making, lefse making, and staffing for the event. Check out the sign-up sheets at the Welcome Center. Please call Kris Treland Neumann (715-558-2796) if you are a new volunteer and she will find the perfect job for you.

Bakers – we need your specialty cakes, cookies, bars, brownies, small breads, yeast breads, stolen, lefse, and pies (especially Scandinavian recipes). Plan to deliver your baked goodies to the church no later than Thursday, Oct 31 by 4:00 pm or 2:00 pm on Nov 1. Wrap and label them and we will do the pricing.

Also please consider a cash donation to help with this event to allow us to contribute to the many worthy organizations from the proceeds (checks can be made out to First Lutheran Church Women). This important outreach for First Lutheran not only keeps traditions alive but supports local organizations and beyond. Over the years the event has raised over $115,000, with about half staying in Sawyer County and outreach for the church. The other half goes to projects around the country and world for supporting efforts such as disaster relief, food security, and children’s programs.

Please take a moment to consider how you and your whole family might help this great outreach opportunity.
