The Mayo Clinic Guide to Stress-Free Living noted five characteristics of people who lived relatively well-adjusted. And they dovetail with Christianity quite nicely. The second of the characteristics is Compassion. Compassion is simply the acknowledgment that other people have feelings and experiences. Compassion understands that others also experience loss and grief, joy and love, disappointment and hope. And that is what makes us human and humane.
Let Us Pray: Father in Heaven, help us to recognize the feelings of others and the feelings we all hold in common. Help us not to cause hurt but help us to enhance joy. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
