One of the things in studying the Bible is that this character King David keeps showing up in one way or another. And as I look at King David I notice that he has this characteristic that is unique. All of us can see the big problems: it doesn’t take much effort to see the really big problems around us and it doesn’t take much effort to agree that they are problems. David’s genius was that he was able to see a problem, not as one big problem only, but as a collection of small problems that needed to be dispatched in order. David’s genius was that he was able to deconstruct a big problem into its smaller components and deal with those smaller components one at a time. And as he achieved success, other people bought into that too, and their confidence grew, and he became an extremely effective leader.
Let us pray: Father in Heaven, for Jesus’ sake help us to not panic at the problems around us. Help us to see clearly what needs to be done, help us see clearly the steps that need to be taken, and help us to see the body of Christ around us helping us in everything. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
