Fellowship: Book Across the Bay Feb 15

Fellowship Committee has booked a bus for Book Across the Bay. It would be $28/person if we end up with 15 people, less if we have more participants. Feel free to invite more! The bus holds more than 40 people. We anticipate the bus leaving First Lutheran parking lot about 3:30 on Sat Feb 15, stopping to pick up people in Cable at Rondeau’s parking lot and getting to Ashland to pick up bib packets between 5-6. The “elite” people who want to race go off at 6PM and the recreational skiers/snowshoers go off after the racers. It is a scenic 10 km with sculptures, luminaries and other things along the way. It loops across Chequamegon Bay and ends up back in Ashland. We anticipate leaving Ashland about 9 PM and getting back to the church 10-ish.

Lenten Soup & Pies Mar 5-Apr 9

Lent Begins on March 5 with Ash Wednesday. During the Lent, on Wednesdays (March 5 -April 9) we gather for Soup and Pie at 11am and worship at both noon and 6pm.

Cooks and Bakers we are looking for three soups that would serve at least 10 apiece and 3 pies every Wednesday March 5th through April 9th. We have a generous definition of pie as a pan of bars would be perfectly acceptable. Watch for the sign-up sheets in the Narthex if you wish to share a soup or pie for the meal.

Epiphany Candles! Jan 11-Mar 2

Shine your light! Bring your Epiphany Candle!
Everyone is invited to bring white, unscented candles in clear glass (any size/shape) and place them on the altar during Epiphany (Jan 11 – Mar 2). Please place the candle on the altar prior to worship service announcements. Candles can also be left on the altar M-F if that’s more convenient. Candles will all be lit by a designated person. Come, participate and be blessed as we visibly see the glow from the candles grow – revealing what was always there – God’s light and presence through Jesus in the world.

Choir Members Wanted!

More Choir Members wanted! All parts welcome. If you can carry a tune you’re qualified. All parts welcome. The choir rehearses Wednesday at 6 pm and sings for two Sunday services and one Saturday service per month. Please contact Patty at 715-634-0379 for more details.
