The Fellowship Committee – This committee is the fun committee, providing opportunities for members to enjoy each other’s company.  This includes, but is not limited to, campfires, coffee between services, Friday Night at the Movies, fitness outings, excursions, Christmas Caroling, the Greater Good Bowling League, et. al.

Greater Good Bowling League

Local area non-profits put together four-person teams to bowl in a league format.  The prize fund for the bowling is given away to the teams’ designated charities at the end of the season banquet.  Bowling is Sunday evening.

Friday Night at the Movies

For over five years members and friends of First Lutheran Church have been invited to a monthly Friday night movie. Each month, typically on the third Friday of the month, at 5:30 p.m., all are invited to come to the fellowship hall to enjoy pizza and a beverage and view a motion picture selected to be entertaining and, more importantly, thought-provoking. The film is shown on a large projection screen. After viewing, the group discusses the film from a Christian perspective, usually concluding before 9:00 p.m.  Major motion pictures such as Doubt, Crash, and Atonement, have been shown, along with foreign films such as the Lives of Others, Babette's Feast, and Zelary. All of them are selected based on the moral and societal issues which the film attempts to convey. Check out the review of the coming film on the announcement cart in the narthex and sign up so we will know how much pizza to order.

Theology on Tap

Theology on Tap meets at a local public house on the 2nd Tuesday of every month to discuss a range of topics involving the intersection of faith and life.
